The Grotto at The Tasting Shed in Kumeu features a waterproof overhead canopy covering the partially enclosed, heated space. It is the perfect dining area for those times when it’s too warm or cool to dine outside, but your heart longs for the outdoors.
The space overlooks our park-like grounds and looks across to the produce garden from which many of our kitchen ingredients are sourced. The Grotto is, in essence, the best of both worlds, with its impeccable indoor-outdoor flow.
On days without booked functions, The Grotto contains individual tables. When the space is hired out exclusively for special occasions, guests can arrange an extended lunch (or dinner) with up to 30 others. When pre-arranged, you may supply your own audio system, so that you can tailor your own playlist.
Much like The Cabana, The Grotto offers you the option of personalising your event venue – if you can visualise it, we will almost certainly be able to cater for it.

The Living Room is the largest venue on The Tasting Shed’s premises, seating up to 40 guests at any one time.
The rustic, country aesthetics have been intentionally preserved with the use of natural and recycled materials throughout. The furnishings are full of character and you’ll find that the interiors’ details evoke images of their own unique and varied histories.
